Edith recently returned from two week tour with singer and guitarist Karim Chajry in Morocco where she did what she has always done; she performed in three separate concerts, jammed with local musicians, made new contacts and friends and immersed herself in the adventure that every new day brought her way.

She flew into Marrakesh on April1st and boarded a train to Casablanca the same day. While there she stayed in the family home of her fellow musician and colleague, Karim Chajry. Included in her entourage were photographer Andrea Talaber and Edith’s partner Jack Nealon who was the video camera man on the tour. After three concerts in Casablanca (two with percussionist Mehdi Chajry – see below), they all headed south down the coast by car spending a couple of nights in Essaouira where she jammed with different  African and Gnawa musicians and drank a lot of good coffee. From there it was a drive inland to Marrakesh where, unknown to them, a city wide party was in full swing as was a colossal traffic jam and fully booked hotels, B&Bs, rooms and every other sort of lodging.  Preparing for the real possibility that they and all their luggage may have to spend the night in a park, a helpful stranger eventually assisted in locating an available apartment. A couple of low-key days of R&R followed in Marrakesh before flying back to Vienna on April 15^th.
